Businesses Billed Hundreds of Dollars for Unordered Services
At Least Two Las Vegas Businesses Affected

Since the beginning of October, BBB serving Southern Nevada has received over 219 complaints against US Public Yellowpages, who, according to complainants, sends businesses an invoice in the amount of $599.99 for business listings that were not ordered.

US Public Yellowpages claims they have recordings of the businesses authorizing the charges, yet businesses maintain the recordings are doctored and the services were never requested.

“This company claims they have a recording accepting services, threaten credit reporting and threaten escalation to collections,” said one Las Vegas business owner.  “No one with any authority to purchase from my business has ever been in touch with US Public Yellowpages and I detest their unprofessional and harassing behavior.”

Businesses request that US Public Yellowpages cancel the alleged services and cease further contact.

“What’s particularly alarming is the large number of complaints we’ve received in such a short period of time, and the pattern of these complaints,” said George Cartwright, President and CEO of BBB serving Southern Nevada.  “It’s important that business people scrutinize each bill they receive before paying them, in order to avoid being duped out of well-earned funds.”

US Public Yellowpages indicated they intend to respond to all complaints, yet to date, BBB has not received a response.
