We are constantly policing Southern Nevada for misleading advertisements, BBB logo thieves, and scams targeting businesses and consumers. Your industry expertise can help us create a safer marketplace.
Advertising Review: On a daily basis we review multiple advertising mediums in an effort to promote clear communication between advertisers and consumers. We have issued basic advertising standards to be used for the guidance of advertisers, advertising agencies and advertising media. If you come across an ad that is confusing, misleading, deceptive, fraudulent, falsely disparaging of competitors, or an insincere offer to sell, please forward it to Katie Robison: kRobison@sn.bbb.org.
Logo Thieves: Because businesses and consumers know the BBB brand denotes trust and embodies integrity, we’ve come across many businesses using the BBB logo in their marketing materials without agreeing to uphold BBB standards. This is a violation of BBB trademark rights and hurts the BBB brand. Please forward any ads or websites using the BBB name or logo without permission to kRobison@sn.bbb.org.
Investigations: Is there a particular scam that harms your industry? Have one of your family members fallen victim to a scheme? Is someone targeting your business unfairly? We want to hear about it! Our investigative team would love to explore the problems affecting our local businesses and consumers. As part of this service, we are able to update our business database and alert local consumers through media outlets. Email Katie Robison with alerts: kRobison@sn.bbb.org.
Events: Throughout the year we host luncheons, breakfasts, mixers, golf tournaments and shred days at various locations. Most of these events are done in partnership with Accredited Businesses. If you’d like to participate in hosting an event, email Katie Robison at kRobison@sn.bbb.org.
Member Benefits: Do you have an idea of a benefit we could offer to all our Accredited Businesses? Please forward your suggestion to kRobison@sn.bbb.org.
