
August 1, 2012 – Las Vegas, Nev. – The Better Business Bureau of Southern Nevada (BBB) announced today the appointment of veteran Las Vegas business executive George M. Cartwright as President and Chief Executive Officer.
“As the Better Business Bureau celebrates 100 years as leaders in advancing marketplace trust, we are pleased to welcome George Cartwright as our new President and CEO in Southern Nevada. We value his experience and look forward to his leadership in the BBB community and beyond,” said Edie Gupton, Chairman of the BBB Board of Directors.
The BBB was founded in 1912 as a non-profit organization focused on advancing marketplace trust. The BBB serves as a trusted intermediary between consumers and businesses offering a wide array of services. The organization is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2012.
“I am honored to be leading such an important organization and value the opportunity to use my business experience to advance the Bureau’s mission to help businesses, consumers and non-profit organizations,” said George M. Cartwright, President and Chief Executive Officer of the BBB serving Southern Nevada.
Cartwright brings more than 20 years of business experience to his new role. He previously served as Vice President of Corporate Development for The Greenspun Corporation, a privately held, family-owned company with a portfolio of investments focused primarily in the gaming, real estate, media, Internet and communications arenas.
A Las Vegan since 1975, Cartwright earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
